First week
So after a semester abroad and a long, lazy summer in town, classes have finally started again. The dorm next to my apartment has gone from half-full with summer residents here for a few weeks to being crammed with unfortunate second-years. My pantless radius has unfortunately shrunk in porportion (this also has something to do with actually having roommates around in the morning).
But like Marshall in HIMYM, I’ll love anything if it gives me a reason to put on pants in the morning. And classes, my job and extracurriculars have definitely done that. I’m really excited about my schedule, because 3/5 of my classes are really small and have dedicated, fascinating professors. The other 2 still have that, but are just on a much larger scale. My only disappointment was not being able to take Hindi 301, but hopefully I can take it next year or something. Its strange to be back into clubs and activities after a whole 8 months have gone by, but I’ve missed it. I like having a big to-do list in the morning and at night, being able to cross off everything on it. I like being gone from my apartment all day, instead of not leaving it all day. I like having to ignore dropped block emails because I don’t have time to drive, instead of cursing others for picking them up too quickly. I like running into people I know everywhere and meeting new people all the time.
Even though last year confirmed a thousand times over that nothing is ever settled or secure in life, I feel like I’m finally back on solid ground. I don’t want to jinx anything, but as I was laying in bed this morning, my cat pawing at my face, that was just how I felt.
