Photo gallery: The 10 Best and 10 Worst Cities to Live In
Good summary. Based on this article, you’d think your only choices were between Switzerland, Germany, and Australia. I think the whole concept of best and worst is pretty subjectively decided, and they’ve got an awfully small sample size- only 251 cities. I’d be interested to know what criteria they used- because for me, knowing that Einstein worked as a patent clerk in a city won’t change the fact that its too cold or expensive for me to live in. And as for the worst cities, yeah African capitals with histories of violence and bloodshed are obviously bad. But what about ranking less obvious places where people are likely to move to for work, on criteria that makes a day to day difference to the little guy. How often are power cuts, for example, or to what extent are trash and water services reliably provided? I know this is a UK based article, so its fairly biased, but I wasn’t expecting so blatant of a north-south divide.
Both my hometowns in the Best Top 10.A basic summary: Germany = good, Africa = bad.
